What is this?
It’s a food blog. It has mainly restaurant reviews because I tend to cook instinctively rather than by recipe. Also my kitchen is quite messy.
Who am I ?
My name is Edward Crowley, I am twenty two years old and I often wear socks with holes in, much to the chagrin of my mother.
Why did you think that this would be a good idea?
I started this blog shortly after moving to London in Sept 2010, to start an internship with Slow Food UK (www.slowfood.org.uk). I was excited about exploring all the different foods that London had to offer, and thought it would be nice to have a place to write them down. I also recently finished university, and wanted something to do that would keep my writing skills sharp. Or at least no blunter than they were before.
I also spent most of university driving my friends mad by talking about food, and thought that this might provide a better outlet for my interest, one more conducive to stopping me from boring said friends to death.
Also, most importantly, I love food. I love eating it, talking about it, reading about it, and I especially love stealing it off my girlfriend´s plate when she isn’t looking and stuffing it into my mouth without her noticing.
Meat and Two Veg?
I chose the name Meat and Two Veg as I thought it summed up the classic view of British cooking and what it stood for. I’m interested in exploring the state of British cooking today and how it’s currently evolving.
Also, it’s a euphemism for the male anatomy, which appeals to the 13 year old boy inside of me.
